Children’s Autism Services is seeking an enthusiastic and empathetic part-time Physiotherapist to join our dynamic team. We provide family-centered services within the home, school or community to meet the complex needs of children who have autism and other developmental disorders using the SCERTS® Model. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to understand each child’s unique needs and challenges
  • Provide hands-on therapy and rehabilitation exercises and document patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, behavior consultants and educators to provide holistic support
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive environment that nurtures children’s confidence and self-esteem
  • Provide guidance and education to families, empowering them with tools and techniques for fostering positive development at home
  • Candidate would need to take on most responsible physiotherapist (MRPT)
  • Travelling to schools and homes throughout the city to provide services

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Physical Therapy
  • Registration with the College of Physiotherapy of Alberta and Alberta Association of Physiotherapy.
  • Your own vehicle and valid driver’s license
  • Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder is highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Passion for making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and their families
  • All hires must provide a Police Check with Vulnerable Sector, Child Intervention Record Check and Standard First Aid & level-C CPR
