Job Description: Permanent / Part time (3 hours per week), Tuesday afternoons Neurosurgery clinic Senior leadership opportunity Friendly and dynamic team About the Role An opportunity currently exists for a Grade 3 physiotherapist to join the physiotherapy department. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high quality, overall physiotherapy management to patients in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy clinics of the Fitzroy campus of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. The successful candidate will be involved in the management of an individual caseload of patients in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Neurosurgery clinics, managing the care of patients with spinal conditions from metropolitan and regional Victoria. They will have opportunity to begin, establish or consolidate their skills in the AMP clinic with the support of senior medical and physiotherapy clinical staff. The position involves taking a leadership role within the department and in the musculoskeletal outpatient team as well as being responsible for quality activities and research projects within the musculoskeletal team. The role is also responsible for supervision of junior staff, and Allied Health Assistants and other duties as directed/delegated. Must have, or be currently eligible for National Physiotherapist Registration. Classifications for this position will be VB7 – VC1 ($52 - $60 per hour). Duties include Provide assessment and clinical management to patients within relevant Advanced Scope Physiotherapy clinics at SVHM (eg. Neurosurgical clinics) Provide leadership and co-ordination of the musculoskeletal outpatient team Supervision and management of the clinical education program for undergraduate students, as required Involvement in multidisciplinary meetings and planning Lead research and/or quality improvement activities in the musculoskeletal team Your contribution Minimum seven years of post-graduate experience Post-graduate qualification in relevant area of physiotherapy (or working towards) would be highly regarded Broad experience in and knowledge of physiotherapy management in a musculoskeletal outpatient setting. Demonstrated leadership skills and extensive experience in the supervision and professional development of physiotherapists, students and support staff.
