Description
As a member of the healthcare team, the Physiotherapist will primarily be responsible for patients with stroke and other neurological conditions such as acquired brain injury and spinal cord injury. The successful applicant will help support the complex spasticity management care in the clinic in conjunction with a member of the OT team. The Physiotherapist coordinates, assesses and evaluates patient care and provides physiotherapy interventions to meet the needs of the patients. The Physiotherapist collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, medical staff and community agencies in the provision of care and discharge planning for patients and their families. 1.Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. 2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the management of Stroke. Experience/interest in the management of spasticity is an asset for this position. 3. Utilizes a patient and family centered care approach and incorporates best available evidence into practice. 4. Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills. 5. Demonstrated skills in program development and evaluation is an asset. 6. Demonstrated ability to work as an independent practitioner while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. 7. Participates and provides clinical education to physiotherapy students and others through preceptor, tutor and/or clinical lecturer activities. 8. Participates in continuing professional development opportunities, professional practice, program committees and initiatives that support patient care, clinical practice, education and research as approved by Clinical Manager in conjunction with the Chief of Inter-professional Practice. 9. ADP Authorizer preferred.
