WHAT YOU KNOW

  • Licensure with College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the required field
  • Experience with consultative/collaborative service delivery model
  • Commitment to family-centered practice
  • Strong organizational/communication skills with sensitivity to diversity
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge and experience with computers and applications related to the position
  • Ability to work effectively as an interdisciplinary team member
  • Physical health necessary to meet demands of the position
  • Valid driver’s license and access to vehicle
  • French Language competency is an asset in this position

Responsibilities
  • Provides Physiotherapy services pertaining to each child’s individual needs to families and caregivers in a community setting.
  • Clinical reporting in accordance with discipline and agency standards.
  • Confidentiality. Ensure compliance and adherence to privacy and confidentiality standards as outlined in professional standards of practice and agency, provincial and federal guidelines.
  • Collect and review consumer information in order to initiate assessment in accordance with established timelines.
  • Select and administer appropriate evaluation procedures and tools.
  • Interpret, document and communicate evaluation information through written and verbal reports.
  • Participate in conferences/meetings pertinent to consumers specialized needs.
  • Participate and contribute to the development of each child’s programming at Intake/Review meetings and Individual Education Plan (IEP)/School Transition meetings.
  • Complete monthly statistical records regarding consumer caseload, and submit mileage, additional expenditures, etc. in a timely manner.
  • Establish effective collaborative relationships with consumers and collaterals.
  • Demonstrate leadership within the team through identification of program/consumer needs, issues or service gaps, and participating on community committees, as requested.
  • Conduct/assist in formal presentations and workshops.
  • Maintain and replenish inventories of equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Participate in student supervision or peer mentoring/supervision as requested.
  • Participate/contribute regularly to meetings pertaining to program development and /or professional development.
  • Complete CPR/First Aid training according to program requirements.
  • Practice in compliance with Privacy legislation (i.e., Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), & The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
