REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of a Master’s of Science in Physiotherapy
- Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
- Post-graduate training in manual therapy at least up to the level of E2-V2 (recognized by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association) or specialized training in sports medicine (recognized by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association).
- Neural Development Therapy (NDT) Training.
- A minimum of three (3) years recent and relevant clinical experience.
- Demonstrated ability in working with the geriatric population.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and abilities to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Desire to work with the elderly population; gerontology experience an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of the interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and with respect in an oral and written format with
- patients, public, colleagues and other health disciplines
- Demonstrated effective problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to apply basic computer skills
- Demonstrated and proven ability to work in a collaborative care model with all members of the health care team and community partners
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario standards of practice
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education activities supporting ongoing professional learning in physiotherapy
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
- Embodies the LEAN ideology by actively and continually seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Must have demonstrated ability to meet the attendance standards of the Hospital
- Bilingualism preferred (French/English)
