REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a Master’s of Science in Physiotherapy
  • Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Post-graduate training in manual therapy at least up to the level of E2-V2 (recognized by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association) or specialized training in sports medicine (recognized by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association).
  • Neural Development Therapy (NDT) Training.
  • A minimum of three (3) years recent and relevant clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in working with the geriatric population.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and abilities to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Desire to work with the elderly population; gerontology experience an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and with respect in an oral and written format with

patients, public, colleagues and other health disciplines

  • Demonstrated effective problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to apply basic computer skills
  • Demonstrated and proven ability to work in a collaborative care model with all members of the health care team and community partners
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario standards of practice
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education activities supporting ongoing professional learning in physiotherapy
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
  • Embodies the LEAN ideology by actively and continually seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to meet the attendance standards of the Hospital
  • Bilingualism preferred (French/English)
