Description
The Women and Girl’s Physiotherapist will play a pivotal role in supporting the lead physiotherapist to deliver high-quality physiotherapy services to senior and pathway SCCC players. The postholder will play a key role in the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries, supporting athletes to optimise performance, reduce injury risk, and return to play safely. They will also contribute to wider performance and wellbeing programmes, working collaboratively with coaches, support staff, and medical partners. This role is part time, working 20 hours per week. Role objectives and responsibilities to include the following: To first and foremost advocate for high quality health care and best prepare senior and pathway players for elite performance (including but not limited to assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries). To maximise player availability through effective injury management and prevention through MDT working (evidence-based injury prevention and rehabilitation programmes tailored to individual athletes). Work with the wider MDT to support player performance and associated development goals. Undertake appropriate professional development to keep up to date with best practice and current evidence-based research in cricket. Ensure medical record-keeping standards are maintained at a satisfactory level as per industry standards and are entered on to the ECB’s Injury Management Database. To work with the CMO to ensure high standards of medical governance. To work collaboratively with ECB staff to co-manage international pathway players. To play a significant role in the Medicine Review/Audit process. Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Physiotherapy Experience working within a sports / team environment Full Driving License is a mandatory requirement Current advanced trauma management and emergency care accreditation (or ability to complete this in the near future if successful) High standards of personal and professional integrity Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Desirable: Experience working with elite athletes / teams including touring with high performance squads. Experience working with youth / developmental athletes in a sporting environment.
