We are excited to add a physiotherapy assistant (PTA) to our growing team! This candidate should be experienced in implementing treatment plans and working alongside multiple therapists/providers to accomplish rehabilitative and therapy goals. Responsibilities

Serve as a vital member of our staff in assisting with physiotherapy plans and procedures from direct guidance from physiotherapist and/or clinic director

  • Be an active listener with patients, their family members, our physical therapists, and clinic staff
  • Adhere to the organization’s standards of excellence in every aspect
  • Support the demands of assisting physiotherapist with patient care as well as demands of clinic administratively, with reports, exercise prescription, documentation, patient follow-up, etc.
  • Responsibilities
  • Implement physiotherapy treatment plans as directed by the managing therapist
  • Provide a safe rehabilitation environment that allows patients to focus on their individual needs
  • Prepare all treatment areas and ensure necessary equipment is available and functioning.
  • Perform all duties in a manner that aligns with professional code of ethics, clinic procedures, and all safety policies within the clinic
  • Communicate treatment plans effectively so that patients can fully benefit from exercises and care practices, including modalities such as laser, spinal decompression, TENs, RPW shockwave, etc.
  • Document patient progress and communicate all findings to the managing therapist including scheduling patient appointments as needed
  • Uphold hygiene standards by cleaning equipment and treatment areas after use
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Required skills and qualifications
  • PTA certifications (or eligibility for certificate/licensure) to practice physiotherapy assistance in Ontario, Canada
  • Minimum one year of experience as a physiotherapy assistant in community-based practice
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task, advanced communication skills, comprehensive writing/reporting skills
  • Ability to be a team player, and work with multiple providers in managing busy flow of clinic patients
  • Preferred skills and qualifications
  • Degree/Certification (or equivalent) from an accredited program for physiotherapy assistants
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Knowledge of Chiropractic, Massage and Acupuncture therapy
  • Ability to communicate in more than one language

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 18 months
Pay: $17.20-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
