POSITION OVERVIEW

Calian Health Services is seeking a Physiotherapy Assistant for the Canadian Forces Health Services Centre in Petawawa to provide healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces. Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members. Full-time, 37.5 hrs/week Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:00pm. The clinic is a large and well-equipped facility. Day shifts, no evenings or weekends!

QUALIFICATIONS

• Physiotherapy Assistant Diploma or
• 1 year of experience working as a Physiotherapy Assistant
• Experience working in a sports therapy clinic would be considered an asset
• Valid certificate of Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) to Healthcare Provider or equivalent such as Cardio- pulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPA/AED) Level C

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• You will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level

• Support and assist a team of Physiotherapists in delivering services that emphasis injury prevention and health education
• Follow the recommendations of the Physiotherapist in relation to cases that vary from orthopaedic to musculoskeletal to pre and post-surgical and more
• Assist the patient in evidence-based exercise programs
• Assist in the sizing of orthopaedic equipment
