POSITION SUMMARY

The Quinte Children’s Treatment Centre is seeking an OTA/PTA to work as part of our collaborative multidisciplinary team. Under the supervision of regulated occupational therapy and physiotherapy staff, the OTA/PTA carries out individual and group treatment plans, provides education to clients and caregivers, prepares resources, and communicates client progress. The successful candidate may work either in school environments or within the Centre.

Responsibilities
  • Implementing or assisting in individual or group treatment sessions.
  • Assisting with environmental/equipment set-up for client sessions.
  • Preparing materials/activities for use in assessment or treatment sessions.
  • Assisting in set-up and delivery of caregiver workshops, groups or other, as required.
  • Receiving, cataloguing and storing therapy equipment and material.
  • Ensuring the cleaning and repair of therapy equipment and materials as per health and safety and infection control protocols.
  • Recording daily work statistics in accordance with established procedures.
  • Regular communication with supervising OT/PT regarding client progress.
  • Documenting client progress in the client health record.
  • Observing strict confidentiality regarding all client information.
  • Maintaining a positive working relationship with all staff.
  • Participating in quality improvement activities, as required.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
  • Approval to work from home will be at management’s discretion and may change over time.
