Job Details Job Location: Danville, CA 94506 Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $16.90 - $85.00 Base+Commission/month Job Shift: Any Blackhawk Country Club will be the premier full-service club in the East Bay, where members gather as a community and create lifelong connections through exceptional experiences in an incomparably beautiful setting. Position Summary The PT Pickleball Professional will report to the Director of Racquet Sports and is responsible for organizing engaging pickleball clinics, private lessons and events that foster participation and enjoyment in the club’s pickleball programs. This position pays $16.90 per hour + commission on each lesson. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Assist in the design and promotion of engaging pickleball clinics, private lessons, and programs for adults, juniors, and seniors, aimed at enhancing skill development and boosting member participation. Provide instruction for private and group pickleball lessons, including skill-building drills to promote player development and enjoyment of the sport. Help organize and promote leagues, round robins, drop-in sessions, ladders, tournaments, and other relevant events to enhance community engagement and participation. Optimize the use of the club's pickleball facilities to minimize attrition and attract new members, fostering a vibrant and engaging community atmosphere. Provide assistance to members with all their pickleball needs while ensuring compliance with established pickleball policies. Conduct pickleball orientations, introducing them to the facility and available programs. Interact professionally with members and guests, providing assistance with changes and accommodating last-minute requests as needed. Maintain the courts to a high standard and ensure a safe environment for all facility users. Help maintain orderly spaces, arrange furniture and equipment, and picking up trash and debris. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Ability to read, understand and communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand. Ability to understand and communicate so others can understand ideas and information. Ability to develop and maintain computer records in Word and Excel and other software required by BCC. Ability to develop tracking and report forms in Word and Excel as needed. Well organized and detail oriented. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent customer service attitude and abilities. Must have and maintain pickleball certification. Ability to arrive at work on time for all scheduled work shifts required. Ability to work weekends and evenings. Must be flexible, adaptable, and readily able to adjust to changes in work environment. Stamina: The role may involve long hours and extended periods of activity, especially during peak business periods or special events. WORK ENVIRONMENT Indoor/Outdoor Setting: The majority of work is performed outdoors. Temperature: The work environment may vary in temperature, depending on the location and season. It may include both heated and air-conditioned areas. Noise Level: The work environment can be fast-paced and may involve moderate to high levels of noise from pickleballs and landscaping equipment. Pressure: The role often involves working under pressure, especially during events and organized play. Interaction: Regular interaction with staff, guests, and other department heads is common, requiring effective communication, interpersonal skills, and diplomacy.
