Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

The role is to deliver high quality patient care to meet the holistic health care needs of practice populations. The post holder will be suitably trained and be competent in at least two of the various activities detailed in key responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:
Clinical practice

· Participate in vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults and children- including vaccinations for those travelling abroad.

  • Provide wound care (ulcer /Doppler etc.) to patients.

· Taking patient samples, swabs, blood, specimens, and checking pulse, temperature and blood pressure.
· To support and advise women requesting information relating to family planning needs and those presenting for cervical cytology consultations.
· Giving advice, education and information about chronic health conditions and ailments, smoking cessation and losing weight.
· Documenting all patient contacts in the electronic patient record.
· Ensure all training is up to date.
