Job Details Level: Entry Position Type: Part Time Education Level: High School *Please note a United States physical address is required to complete this application* Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities: Instructs assigned Pilates classes in a safe manner with certification on both Mat and Reformer. Keeps activity area and storage area neat and assists participants in putting away all equipment, wiping bikes and mats when necessary. Enforces the rules and regulations of the facility for the safety and welfare of staff and members. Renders first aid as needed. Accurately communicates information to spa and fitness staff and spa director in a timely and useful manner. Teaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate warm-up, exercises, stretching, and cool down. Instructs members on effective workout methods, explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises, identifies muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles. Prepares appropriate equipment, music, and handouts if applicable for each class. Assists members, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for members and class participants. Performs related duties as requested and required. Generally Applicable Competencies Proper and current certification. Functional Competencies Leadership/Integrity – Effectively communicates the Westmoor Club’s mission and standards; holds oneself accountable and builds trust among team players and members. Qualifications Knowledge and Skill Set Requirements Must require great skill with people. Must be able to speak and understand English. Working knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology and training principles Minimum Education/Prior Experience/ Qualifications Required Mat and Reformer Certification High School Diploma Must be at least 18 years of age CPR/1st Responders Certification Physical Requirements Must present healthy and fit body image, setting the example to fellow team players and members. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally must aide or assist participants. The employee must have a high degree of energy, be physically fit, and have the endurance to complete the workout. Standard Club Requirements: Employees are expected to present a clean and neat appearance while on the job. Clothing is to be kept clean and pressed. Personal cleanliness is expected, including wearing deodorant, bathing and oral hygiene. Excessive make-up and jewelry is not permitted. Employees are expected to arrive to work on time and leave personal belongings at home or in a locker. Employees should conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner when dealing with members, management and other staff.
Responsibilities
Instruct assigned Pilates classes safely and effectively, ensuring proper techniques and methods are communicated to participants. Maintain a positive exercise experience while enforcing facility rules and assisting with equipment management.
