REQUIREMENTS:

  • Secondary education—preferably relevant (e.g., chemistry, veterinary, biology, microbiology, food industry—or similar, equivalent to a technical level, such as a vocational school for human healthcare), or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • User-level computer skills (e.g., Excel, Word, Microsoft cloud-based software)
  • Ability to work independently (performing pre-agreed tasks/experimental plans under the supervision of a senior colleague)
  • Basic knowledge of English
Responsibilities
  • Performing technical tasks related to the development, scaling-up, and manufacturing of veterinary vaccines, such as:
  • Preparing materials and equipment, composing, measuring, and sterilizing culture media
  • Participating in the production of scaled-up and later industrial batches (in industrial and/or pilot scale, GMP production area)
  • Operating, maintaining, and supervising equipment (e.g., fermentor, separator, tanks, filters, autoclaves) at the user level
  • Sampling, handling, and preparing samples
  • Conducting simple tests and analytical measurements (such as virus titration, colony counting, moisture content, pH, colorimetric measurements, automatic cell counting, microscopy, spectrophotometry, pH measurement, filter integrity testing) and maintaining measuring instruments at the user level
  • Formulating and dispensing experimental and pilot-scale vaccines
  • Documenting planned and performed operations on paper and electronically
  • Preparing standard operating procedures
  • Managing equipment and material inventory, recording usage and working hours, ordering materials
  • GMP documentation (e.g., monitoring; keeping records of qualifications, calibrations; validation)
  • Keeping the work area tidy
  • Actively communicating daily with other departments
  • Coordinating and supporting the resolution of technical problems that arise
