Pipe Fitter / Structural Fitter Houston, TX 77015 Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM Pay: $18.00 – $25.00/hr DOE ---------------------------------------- Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Pipe Fitter / Structural Fitter to support the fit-up and assembly of structural pipe and pressure vessel components in accordance with AWS and ASME code requirements. This role is critical to ensuring proper joint preparation, alignment, and dimensional accuracy prior to welding. This is a night shift position (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) requiring strong attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment. ---------------------------------------- Key Responsibilities * Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols * Measure, cut, and prepare materials to exact specifications * Perform precision fit-up of pipe and structural weld joints (gap, bevel, alignment) * Use tools such as grinders, torches, levels, squares, and measuring devices * Verify dimensions, tolerances, and alignment prior to welding * Collaborate with welders and Quality Control to ensure code-compliant results * Identify and correct fit-up issues before welding begins * Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition * Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards ---------------------------------------- Qualifications & Skills * Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter or Structural Fitter in an industrial environment * Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols * Understanding of fit-up tolerances, joint preparation, and alignment * Experience working with pipe, plate, or structural steel components * Ability to use measuring tools accurately (tape measure, level, square, etc.) * High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Strong work ethic and reliability in a production environment ---------------------------------------- Preferred Experience * Pipe fabrication or pressure vessel environment experience * Familiarity with AWS or ASME codes * Experience supporting NDE/quality-controlled welding operations * Basic tack welding experience (GMAW or FCAW preferred) ---------------------------------------- Physical Requirements * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly * Stand for long periods on concrete or uneven surfaces * Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing, and pulling * Work in confined spaces as required * Operate hand and power tools with full upper-body mobility * Exposure to noise, dust, heat, and industrial equipment * Must have adequate vision and hearing to safely perform job duties
