We provide services for earthworks, grading, underground utilities (Water, Sewer, and storm), building pads, fire lines, and much more. We are looking for people to join our Pipe Crew that can do or are willing to learn pipe. We need people with experience in the following fields; Pipe Layer- Laying and connecting pipes for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. Digging trenches, grading and leveling trench bases, and ensuring proper depth and slope. Positioning pipes, aligning them for welding or sealing, and connecting them using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering. Sealing pipe joints with cement, glue, or welding equipment. Handling and positioning various pipe materials, including PVC, concrete, and metal. Operating machinery such as excavators, backhoes, and trenching tools. Laying out pipe routes, coordinating layouts with supervisors, and interpreting written instructions or blueprints. Identifying and complying with Blue Stake policies for the safe operation of equipment around utilities. Drilling holes and tapping pipes for auxiliary lines or devices and ensuring proper pipe alignment, slope, and grade using levels, lasers, and other instruments. Covering installed pipes with earth or other materials. Using magnetic or radio indicators to locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement. May assist with other construction tasks as needed. Hillman & Tailman- As a Hillman/Tailman, you will play a crucial role in our underground utility installation projects. You will work collaboratively with the pipe crew, ensuring the safe and efficient installation of water, sewer, and drainage systems while maintaining quality and adhering to project specifications. The Hillman and Tailman perform complementary tasks to support the successful completion of underground utility projects. Key Responsibilities: Trenching and Shoring: Assist in the excavation process by trenching and shoring to prepare the work area for pipe installation. • Pipe Handling: Handle and position pipes and other materials to ensure they are in the correct location for installation. • Safety: Strictly adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to create a safe working environment and comply with regulatory requirements. • Equipment Operation: Operate equipment as required, such as forklifts or other machinery, to support pipe handling and installation. • Materials Management: Assist in the inventory management of materials and supplies required for the project, including ordering, tracking, and reporting. • Quality Control: Support the installation of underground utility systems, ensuring work meets project standards, blueprints, and design specifications. • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with the pipe crew, Pipe Crew Foreman, and other team members to complete tasks efficiently. • Communication: Maintain effective communication with team members and supervisors, reporting progress, challenges, and equipment issues as needed. • Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including daily work logs, equipment usage reports, safety documentation, and project reports. • Problem Solving: Identify and address operational challenges or issues that may arise during underground utility installation. Laborer- The individual is responsible for repairing and installing water lines, sewer lines, and water meters. Provide service to broken water and sewer lines. Install and repair manholes.
