CIVIL CONSTRUCTION PIPE LAYER
Milestone Equipment Contracting Inc is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Construction Pipelayer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground pipelines, sewers, and storm drains on various civil construction projects. Working closely with the construction crew, the Pipelayer will utilize their expertise to ensure that all piping systems are installed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications and safety standards. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent teamwork skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in pipe laying and a solid understanding of construction principles and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: Previous experience in pipe laying or civil construction is preferred.
- Knowledge: Understanding of construction principles, techniques, and practices related to pipe laying.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, digging, and working in various weather conditions.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow project specifications, blueprints, and instructions accurately to ensure proper installation of piping systems.
- Teamwork: Capacity to work effectively as part of a construction crew, collaborating with colleagues to achieve project objectives.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills to communicate with supervisors, team members, and other personnel on construction sites.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and solve problems independently or with guidance from supervisors.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Equipment Operation: Proficiency in operating and maintaining construction equipment, such as excavators, trenchers, and compaction equipment.

- Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
- Certification: Possession of relevant certifications, training, may be preferred or required.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair underground pipelines, sewers, and storm drains.
- Follow project specifications and blueprints to ensure accurate installation of piping systems.
- Collaborate with construction crew members to coordinate tasks and complete projects efficiently.
- Operate and maintain equipment, such as excavators and trenchers, safely and effectively.
- Dig trenches and excavate areas to prepare for pipe installation.
- Position and align pipes according to grade specifications and project requirements.
- Connect pipes using various methods, such as welding, cementing, or using mechanical fittings.
- Inspect piping systems for defects, leaks, or damages and repair as needed.
- Perform backfilling and compaction of trenches to restore ground surfaces.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any incidents or safety hazards encountered.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate workflow and address any issues or concerns.
- Keep abreast of industry developments, technologies, and best practices related to pipe laying and civil construction.
- Participate in training programs and skill development opportunities to enhance proficiency and knowledge in the field.
