Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, located in Monroe, NC, is looking for an Extrusion Operator Trainee. We are the only manufacturer that offers a complete system of cast iron, PVC, CPVC, ABS and FlowGuard Gold® pipe and fittings for residential and commercial plumbing systems and industrial applications. Summary: Extrusion Operator is responsible for running extrusion machines, packing and moving pipe to storage location. Each Operator is responsible for Safety 5S housekeeping of his/her machines and work area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Starting up extruder, monitoring material flow, making adjustments to extruder and downstream equipment as needed. Setting up cooling tanks and making required adjustments as needed. Inspecting and identifying poor quality pipe using micrometer, pie tape, etc. Monitoring pipe skin thickness. Packing pipe per standards with strapping tool, weighing pipe and moving to designated storage area with forklift. Assisting Maintenance personnel in repair of equipment. Accurately completing production quality records. Responsible for performing minor repairs on pipe racks, printers, etc. Assisting coworkers and training new associates. Keeping work area up to 5S housekeeping standards including operating sweeper as necessary.
