JOB TITLE: PIPE WELDER Shop-Based Position | Day & Night Shifts Available ---------------------------------------- POSITION OVERVIEW We are hiring experienced Pipe Welders for industrial shop environments in the Houston area. This role involves weld preparation, pipe welding, and finishing work based on blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate has strong experience with multiple welding processes, can read weld symbols, and produces high-quality work in a production setting. ---------------------------------------- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Perform pipe welding using approved processes and techniques * Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings * Prepare materials and set up welding equipment (amps, volts, etc.) * Weld various materials including steel, stainless steel, and alloys * Inspect welds to ensure quality and compliance with specifications * Use measuring tools and gauges to verify accuracy * Perform basic maintenance and inspection of welding equipment * Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S practices) * Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements * Support production needs and assist team members as required ---------------------------------------- REQUIREMENTS * Minimum 5 years of pipe welding experience in a manufacturing or shop environment * Ability to pass a welding test * Proficiency in MIG and/or other applicable welding processes * Ability to read blueprints and piping drawings * Knowledge of welding materials and applications * Strong attention to detail and quality * Ability to work independently and on a team * Basic math and measurement skills * Ability to follow written and verbal instructions ---------------------------------------- PREFERRED EXPERIENCE * Experience with multiple welding techniques and materials * Familiarity with fabrication shop environments * Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices * Experience with precision measuring instruments ---------------------------------------- WORK ENVIRONMENT This role is performed in an industrial shop environment and may include: * Standing, bending, and repetitive motion throughout the shift * Lifting up to 50 lbs * Non-climate-controlled conditions * Required PPE (safety glasses, steel-toe boots; hearing protection as needed) * Shifts up to 10 hours per day, up to 6 days per week depending on production needs ---------------------------------------- COMPENSATION $20.00 – $33.00/hr (based on experience, skill level, and assignment) * Weekly pay * Opportunities for long-term placement * Potential for advancement based on performance ---------------------------------------- EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER We are an equal opportunity employer and consider all qualified applicants without regard to background or protected status.
