JOB TITLE: PIPE FITTER Shop-Based Position Day & Night Shift Available  ---------------------------------------- POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking experienced Pipe Fitters for industrial shop environments. This role involves the layout, assembly, installation, and maintenance of pipe systems and supports used in manufacturing and production operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to work from drawings and specifications to complete high-quality installations. ---------------------------------------- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Select pipe materials, sizes, and components based on job specifications * Cut, thread, and bend pipe using appropriate tools and equipment * Assemble and install metal and non-metal piping systems, including steel and stainless steel * Read and interpret blueprints, piping diagrams, and technical drawings * Use hand tools, power tools, and pipe fabrication equipment safely * Maintain material inventory and support coordination with warehouse teams * Assist with material tracking and inventory audits * Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S practices) * Follow all safety procedures and report hazards as needed * Support production goals and assist team members as required ---------------------------------------- REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS * Ability to read blueprints and piping/instrumentation drawings * Experience with pipe schedules and materials * Skilled in using measuring tools and fabrication equipment * Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills * Ability to use hand and power tools related to pipe fitting * Basic math skills for measurements and layout work * Strong communication and teamwork skills * Commitment to quality and safety ---------------------------------------- EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE * High school diploma or GED required * 5+ years of pipe fitting or related manufacturing experience preferred * Ability to read and communicate in English (verbal and written) ---------------------------------------- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Technical training or certification in pipe fitting * Experience with advanced fabrication or installation techniques * Familiarity with automated cutting or threading equipment * Forklift and/or crane certification * Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles ---------------------------------------- WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position is performed in an industrial shop environment and may include: * Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly * Standing, bending, and reaching throughout the shift * Exposure to non-climate-controlled conditions * Required PPE including safety glasses and steel-toe boots * Hearing protection may be required in certain areas * Shifts up to 10 hours per day, up to 6 days per week depending on assignment ---------------------------------------- PAY RANGE $20.00 – $33.00/hr (based on experience, skill level, and assignment) ---------------------------------------- EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER We are an equal opportunity employer and consider all qualified applicants without regard to background or protected status.
