Description

The Pipefitter/Plumber (Hourly) will work on a three-shift rotation to support manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities will include: installing and maintaining steam and hot water heating systems, high pressure steam lines, sprinkler systems and piping systems for air, oil, gas, paint, acids, solvents, fluids, etc., including pumps and collectors.
The Pipefitter (Hourly) will also cut, thread, bend, file, burr, ream and install pipes, couplings, unions, elbows, flanges, valves, etc.
The selected candidate will work with cast iron, brass, stainless steel, and other types of piping, valves, traps and vessels and use all types of Pipefitter’s tools including, taps, portable power pipe threaders, gas torches, hacksaws, drills and benders.
The Pipefitter will diagnose malfunctioning systems and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, ensure compliance with codes (Legislative, Safety); and be responsible to ensure that all work completed results in the highest quality of product leaving the workstation (piece of equipment/machine).

BASIC & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Certificate of Apprenticeship as a Plumber (306A)
Certificate of Qualification as a Plumber (306A)
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
Demonstrated experience with pneumatics and controls
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while continuously learning
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
Available for shift work and Saturday overtime
Legally authorized to work in Canada
