The Opportunity
The Pipelayer will be responsible for the efficient installation of a variety of pipes and fittings related to civil construction including water, sanitary sewer, hydro and storm water collection systems.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLSET

  • Experience in civil utilities including storm, sanitary sewer, water, and hydro
  • Experience using pipe and rotary lasers
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications
  • Working knowledge of pipe grading, survey, and evaluations
  • Able to identify all hazards associated with various aspects of working in civil projects, as well as correctly communicate safety issues as they arise
  • First aid, confined space, and fall protection training is an asset
  • Good communications ability, able to work with variety of individuals
  • Must be physically fit, able to spend most or all of shift standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and working hands-on in an outdoor environment in all types of weather
  • Flexible with hours worked, including overtime and weekend work as needed
  • Willingness to learn and have a good work ethic
Responsibilities
  • Work safely on a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in safety meetings
  • Work with the Foreman and other team members to ensure pipe is aligned, positioned, and installed in accordance with project specifications
  • Support the safe assembly and use of trench shoring systems
  • Ensure back fill and compaction around pipe to ensure proper positioning and support
  • Maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues

  • Support other crew members on daily site activities outside of job scope
