Pipelayer Helper Firma Contracting is currently seeking a Pipelayer Helper to work on underground utility projects located in Edmonton. Duties include (but are not limited to): Assist the Pipelayer with installation of water, storm and sanitary pipe Follow the established grade for water, storm and sanitary pipe Provide a high degree of clear communication with the lead hand, pipelayer and other workers in the ditch to maintain safe operations and quality installation Continuous assessment of risk and implementation of required controls / mitigations Complete site documentation as required Participate in inspections and incidents - address deficiencies / issues through corrective actions Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity Required Skills: 1+ years of pipelayer helper experience is required Underground utility rehabilitation / replacement experience is an asset High attention to detail and management of quality specifications Safety conscious Able to follow instruction from the pipelayer Able to support other positions as needed Strong communication skills – provide instructions clearly with sufficient detail Ability to mentor workers for advancement Physically capable of performing heavy manual labour Consistent, reliable and always show up for work fit for duty Required Certifications: CSTS 2020 WHMIS 2015 Ground Disturbance Level 2 Confined Space is an asset Fall Protection is an asset
