KEY SKILLS:

  • Exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and Project)
  • Previous experience managing multiple projects/initiatives and communicating project goals, objectives and accomplishments to all levels of an organization
  • Proven pipeline engineering expertise and competency
  • Experience with pipeline system design and construction based on CSA Z662 code
  • Lead technical role for the establishment of design specification and the procurement of equipment and piping

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Civil engineering and professional engineering status
  • Minimum 5 -10 years of related experience
  • Member of APEGA (other jurisdictions an asset)
  • Familiarity with engineering standards relevant to the oil and gas pipeline industry (including CSA, ASME, API, and Alberta Pipeline Rules, etc.)
  • Experience with Canadian jurisdictions and their various acts and regulations
  • References available upon request

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the design of pipeline and related facilities
  • Routing and hydraulic simulations
  • Determining project costs, timelines and construction plans for specific projects as required
  • Developing technical specifications, equipment requirements, and resource and material allocations in order to ensure capital project/program deadlines are fulfilled
  • Authenticating engineered plans
  • Reviewing of RFQs, contracts and drafting proposals
  • Regulatory application preparation
  • Maintaining project schedules by monitoring project progress, risks, costs, and scope
  • Occasional travel to different project sites
  • Working with, and mentoring, junior engineering and other technical staff
  • Other duties as assigned
