LOCATION: SUNDERLAND

We are seeking a Piping Designer with experience in live, customer-focused projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing gas, hydraulic, and process systems from first principles and producing instrumentation pipe-work schematics (P&ID’s), fabrication drawings, system designs, and GA drawings using 2D and 3D CAD packages.

• Concept system design, including circuits, pumps, tooling, and fabrication.
• Produce engineering calculations covering thermodynamics, mechanical design, material compatibility, flow, volumetric pressure, and power consumption.
• Develop P&ID drawings, bills of materials (BOM), detailed fabrication drawings, and general arrangement (GA) drawings using AutoCAD & Autodesk Inventor.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, CE marking, PED, and ATEX/IECEx directives.
• Lead design reviews and liaise with customers to outline and finalize design concepts.
• Assist manufacturing with commissioning, both on and off-site, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Be prepared to travel globally for project requirements.
