YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Engineering or technical school graduate with a minimum of 4+ years of piping stress engineering experience.
  • Sufficient knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31J and CSA Z662 Codes, applicable API codes for equipment nozzle loading.
  • Proficiency with Caesar II, Navisworks, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office applications, experience with Nozzle Pro.
  • Preference will be given to those candidates who have prior oil and gas, EPC or EPCM experience.
  • Registration with APEGA as an EIT or Professional Engineer is an asset.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The individual assigned to this role will be accountable for ensuring piping stress designs follow all applicable codes, standards and specifications. Intermediate Piping Stress Engineers will work on one or multiple assigned projects and support the project team through execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under supervision of the Senior Piping Stress Engineer perform piping stress analyses for piping systems using both Caesar II and manual methods where appropriate.
  • Suggest piping modifications, select proper standard pipe supports to control piping stress, thermal growth, equipment nozzle loads and loads on restraints.
  • Design special and engineered pipe supports as applicable.
  • Review, check, and comment on the content of internal and external documents
  • Coordinate piping stress design with all involved disciplines and issue stress comments as required.
  • Compile reports, issue Data Sheets and perform technical bid evaluations.
  • Provide technical support to the project group including procurement, sub contactors, fabrication, and construction activities.
  • Develop and review project deliverables.
  • Closely follow EPFC core values and work effectively with engineers, designers, drafters, technicians, and project managers.
