What the day will look like The Placement Manager, Accident & Health (A&H) is a specialist, market‑facing role responsible for leading the marketing, negotiation, and placement of Accident & Health insurance programs across a diverse portfolio of clients. This role plays a critical part in delivering optimal placement outcomes for clients by combining deep technical A&H expertise, strong insurer relationships, and commercial judgement. It is distinct from day‑to‑day client management and focuses on insurer engagement, program structuring, market strategy, and execution. The role reports to the Health & Benefits Placement Director and works closely with Client Managers, national colleagues, and insurer partners. Key responsibilities will include: Managing the marketing and placement corporate Accident & Health programs. This will encompass all elements of insurance program marketing from client strategy, insurer negotiation, technical analysis and presentation of results. Partner with colleagues to set renewal program strategy and objectives for client programs and place the program with insurers on an annual basis (or as otherwise driven). Leading complex insurer negotiations, including coverage design, pricing, capacity, and endorsements Building and maintaining positive relationships with key personnel within local insurance markets. Acting as Aon’s primary Accident & Health placement critical issue point with insurers. Provide technical leadership and quality assurance over Accident & Health placements driven by Client Managers and support teams, encouraging adherence to Aon’s ‘go-to-market’ strategy. Supervise insurance markets to maintain up to date knowledge of competitiveness. Provide direction and risk management advice to client management associates. Utilising data and analytics to provide insights to clients and support marketing strategies across Accident & Health Insurance. Working closely and collaboratively with peers in application of subject matter expertise. Developing appropriate solutions to meet client needs resulting in improved client outcomes and retention. Working collaboratively with national colleagues to build best in class solutions for Aon clients. Skills and experience that will lead to success You will bring: Proven experience in Accident & Health insurance within a broking, consulting, or insurer environment. Strong technical expertise across Accident & Health products (e.g. group personal accident, business travel, sickness & accident, specific A&H solutions). Proven experience leading insurer marketing exercises and negotiating sophisticated placements. Experience working with insurers in teams such as underwriting, pricing, distribution, or technical roles. Proven capability handling large, sophisticated, or industry‑specific A&H programs. Strong understanding of legislative, regulatory, and market considerations impacting employee benefits and A&H insurance in Australia. Commercially astute judgement, with the ability to balance client objectives, insurer dynamics, and Aon governance requirements. Ability to prioritise and lead multiple concurrent placement activities under tight timeframes. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, capable of assessing risk and developing effective placement solutions. Effective collaborator management and influencing skills, including comfort engaging senior internal and external partners. A collaborative attitude and ability to work across teams and geographies to deliver consistent outcomes. High attention to detail and focused approach to technical quality and hazard oversight.
