Do you like planning & organizing? Do you have experience with heavy equipment? If you answered yes, then this may be the job for you! Fleet Services is responsible for the planning and execution of all activities related to Heavy Equipment and Hoisting at Chalk River Laboratories (CRL). The Planner for Fleet services, is accountable to the Operations Manager, to ensure that documents, methods, procedures, and practices are executed in compliance with company and regulatory procedures. In particular, the Planner will ensure that their actions, documents, methods, and plans address health, safety, security environmental and quality requirements for Heavy Equipment/ Hoisting activities.

What will you be doing!

  • Leading or assisting in the preparation of detailed work plans for fieldwork.
  • Following and leading the Integrated Work Control Process.
  • Providing detailed review and comment on documents related to the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) Environmental Remediation and Decommissioning programs.
  • Preparing and addressing comments on documents in support of activities for CNL Environmental Remediation and Decommissioning.
  • Reviewing documentation and performing field walk-downs to identify deficiencies and issue reports.
  • Working with trades, project staff, radiation protection, operations, and other support groups to resolve problems and issues related to planning and scheduling of the CNL Environmental Remediation and Decommissioning programs.
  • Working closely with the CNL groups to coordinate schedules and timelines for document development.
  • Prioritizing tasks and deliverables according to defined timelines.
  • Identifying, addressing, troubleshooting, and resolving moderately complex issues.
  • Assisting in the preparation of Scopes of Work, and bid evaluations.
  • Preparing technical reports and researching tools, equipment, and techniques used in excavation and hoisting activities.
  • Complying with safety and quality assurance standards and troubleshooting when issues arise.
  • Ensuring the safety and compliance of people on the site.
  • Working closely with Project staff in design and contractors for execution of small projects with all aspects related to delivery to support building turnovers.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.
