POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Planner/Buyer to manage material planning and purchasing activities for a global supply chain. This role is responsible for ensuring materials and assemblies are available to meet customer demand—particularly for our demanding automotive customers—by maintaining accurate data in the ERP/MRP system and collaborating closely with suppliers and internal teams to achieve optimal inventory levels, cost control, and on-time delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
· 3+ years of experience in a planning/buying role, ideally in a small or mid-size company environment.
· Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Infor Visual or similar preferred) and
· Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
· Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and improve data-driven processes
· Comfortable working with international suppliers, managing long-lead-time supply chains and supporting demanding customers in industries like automotive.
· Strong judgment in balancing system-driven recommendations with practical business knowledge Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and follow-through are critical.
· Plan, schedule, and purchase materials and assemblies from international suppliers and internal manufacturing facilities.
· Review and act on ERP/MRP-generated recommendations, ensuring data accuracy to drive reliable results.
· Monitor customer demand, forecasts, and historical usage to maintain proper inventory coverage.
· Maintain accurate lead times, delivery dates, and order statuses to manage a long global supply chain.
· Work with customer service, operations, and suppliers to resolve delivery issues, expedite orders, and manage shortages.
· Manage purchase order pricing using historical data and established cost structures.
· Identify irregularities in demand or system data and use sound judgment to address them quickly.
· Continuously improve planning and purchasing processes to reduce costs and avoid production disruptions.
