The Planner-Detailer plays a vital role, collaborating across departments to bring creative designs to life. Responsibilities include cost estimating, manufacturing planning and solid modeling of products, utilizing knowledge of a variety of production processes and raw materials, including metal, wood and plastic. This position works onsite at our corporate headquarters in Eugene, Oregon. The work schedule is Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm with additional hours if business needs increase periodically. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities: Analyze project scope and define manufacturing, shipping and installation solutions. Create cost estimates for labor and materials for custom designs. Product development of new designs that satisfy design intent, function, safety, lead time, packaging/shipping, installation and budget requirements. Collaborate with upstream partners to ensure alignment on project goals. Collaborate with downstream partners to ensure successful manufacturing, shipping and installation. Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and Routings within ERP/MRP systems. Manage product lifecycle from setup through sunset, including maintenance and improvements. Conduct job cost analysis and suggest efficiencies and cost-saving measures. Monitor production progress, identify potential issues, and provide solutions. Run and participate in production and installation kick-off meetings. Create 3D solid models of décor and fixtures. Create clear and comprehensive production drawings using AutoDesk Inventor. Create packaging shipping plans and calculate size and weights of shipments. Utilize knowledge of manufacturing methods and materials to help optimize products Maintain project timelines and assigned deadlines Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Revit), ERP/MRP systems, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook Ability to conceptualize products in 3D Ability to read blueprints, architectural and shop drawings Knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods (wood, metal, plastics), and ability to apply best practices and SOP for each Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify efficient manufacturing processes Strong project and time management skills; ability to juggle multiple projects Strong written and verbal communication Strong mathematical abilities in geometry, algebra, trigonometry Creative problem solving Collaborative and curious mindset Requirements Requirements: Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred. 4+ years of experience in related fields (production planning, manufacturing, product development, construction, and/or CAD solid modeling).
