Job Overview: APTIM is hiring a Planner Estimator to perform electrical project work estimating to support the ISS Contract for the United States Army Garrison Redstone (USAG-R) Department of Public Works (DPW) with our partner AKIMA. The Planner Estimator will support APTIM Resource Planning Branch at Redstone Arsenal by performing a wide variety of technical and administrative tasks interfacing with Work Control, Material Control, customers, vendors, subcontractors, and AKIMA shops. Incumbent utilizes standards of civil, electrical, mechanical, and architectural engineering to evaluate and review work requests, make valuation judgments, and track projects from inception to completion and close out. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: * Prepares project electrical estimates for alteration, repair, or Determines methods and materials required for completion of project. * If necessary, prepares sketches showing construction details and prepares lists of materials. Initiate's procurement of supplies and material for jobs and ensures availability of equipment to complete job. * Visits job site while work is in progress to ensure specifications are adequate and requirements are satisfied. Inspects work of subcontractors or other service providers to ensure work complies with contractual requirements. Completes inspection and completion reports as required. * Revises estimate to conform to changes while work is in progress and reviews actual manhours and material costs against estimated costs. * Coordinates and maintains liaison with users of facilities, DPW requesters, engineering, personnel, etc. to gather information, furnish advice and assistance or affect mutual accord on scheduling and plans. * Uses computer software to calculate job estimates including Means. Prepares and submits estimates for approval. * Performs basic engineering and design tasks to detail required work. * Reads and interprets blueprints to determine material take-off and design feasibility. * Determines specifications and construction codes to detail projects. * Performs other duties as required. * Maintain regular and punctual attendance. * Work overtime as assigned. * Work cooperatively with others. * Interact with employees and others in the workplace in an appropriate manner. * Use a computer for tasks such as communicating by email and preparing reports and work schedules using Microsoft software. * Review and analyze data and information utilizing Means and Maintenance Connection. * Plans prioritize and monitor work assignments. * Complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner. * Comply with all Company policies and procedures. Basic Qualifications: * Timely, accurate, cost-effective performance of duties. * Timely completion and accuracy of all departmental work. * Working closely and harmoniously with other employees. * Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations. * Compliant with company standard operating procedures and personnel policies and procedures. * Working independently with minimum supervision. * Having the ability to work well under pressure. * Has authority to contact or respond to craftsmen, supervisors, and customers for input or clarification on specific problems. * Has authority to perform all tasks/functions required to accomplish assigned duties in accordance with the ISS Contract and Corporate Procedures. * Valid State Driver's License * Meet requirements for: pre-employment physical, drug screening, background check, and MVR check (MVR points are subject to company policy) * Obtain and maintain Common Access Card (CAC) and National Agency Check (NAC) as required by contract. * Possess a demonstrated experience in resource coordination and familiarity with broad range of multi-function government installation maintenance activities supporting critical missions. * Minimum 5 years of working knowledge in electrical construction and / or maintenance. * Requires skills necessary to deal with customers in a cooperative and tactful manner. * Working knowledge of common computer applications such as: spreadsheet date bases, word processing, and email. * Journeyman electrician preferred. * Must be able to climb ladders and enter restricted spaces with appropriate PPE. * Ability to work shifts of at least 8 hours, and occasionally longer, 5 days per * Ability to stand for prolonged * Ability to sit for prolonged periods * Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 * Ability to work in cold/hot/dusty/loud * Ability to work in office * Ability to receive and understand direction from supervision and ABOUT APTIM APTIM is committed to accelerating the transition toward a clean and efficient energy economy, building a sustainable future for our communities and natural world, and creating a more inclusive and equitable environment that celebrates the diversity of our communities.
