ABOUT HARRIS KMON SOLUTIONS

We are a growing national engineering and project management consultancy with a reputation for practical client-focused solutions that make a real impact. Our team of experienced engineers, project managers and technical specialists are known for being sharp thinkers, good communicators and even better collaborators.

We’re proud of the work we do - it’s diverse, meaningful and often complex. Just as importantly, we like the people we do it with. Our culture is grounded in mutual respect, humility and a healthy dose of humour.

As we continue to expand, we’re focused on building strong teams, developing great leaders and creating opportunities for people to stretch, contribute and thrive. If you're looking for a place where you can make a difference and grow with the business, we’d love to hear from you.

THE ROLE

Following continued growth of our project portfolio, we are expanding our Project Management team in Darwin. We are especially interested in connecting with established Project Managers with experience managing complex infrastructure projects in government, utilities or similarly regulated environments.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality client-side project outcomes while building trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders. Your core responsibilities would include:

  • Managing project scope, program, budget, risk and reporting
  • Coordinating consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary technical teams
  • Leading stakeholder engagement and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Supporting procurement, contract administration and project governance
  • Managing delivery within complex or operational environments
  • Identifying issues early and driving practical, high-quality outcomes

This role plays an important role in the delivery of critical infrastructure across the Northern Territory and the continued development of HK Solutions’ project management capability.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

You are a confident and practical Project Manager who can bring structure and momentum to complex projects. You communicate clearly, build trusted relationships and are comfortable working with technical, operational and senior stakeholders. You could be well suited for this opportunity if you have:

  • A strong track record delivering infrastructure, utilities, engineering or construction projects
  • Experience in a client-side, government, asset-owner or consultancy environment
  • Strong stakeholder, commercial and project risk judgement
  • An ability to make considered and well-informed decisions in complex or changing circumstances
  • The ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and commitment to quality delivery

Experience that will set you apart includes:

  • Experience delivering essential infrastructure projects
  • Exposure to government departments, statutory authorities, utilities or publicly owned corporations
  • Knowledge of Northern Territory project delivery, procurement or stakeholder environments
  • Qualifications in project management, engineering, construction or a related discipline

We recognise that capable Project Managers come from a range of professional backgrounds. If you meet many, but not all, of the attributes listed, we still encourage you to apply.

At HK Solutions, we value practical experience, learning potential, strong relationships and alignment with our values of Reliability, Integrity, Flexibility, Proactivity and Teamwork.

WHY YOU WILL ENJOY WORKING WITH US

It is an exciting time to join HK Solutions as we continue to grow and expand the work we deliver. You will have the opportunity to contribute to that growth, broaden your experience and build your career as part of a supportive and collaborative team.

Our benefits include:

  • A genuinely supportive and collaborative team culture
  • Flexible work options and a life-friendly approach
  • The opportunity to share in our success through our profit-sharing scheme
  • Additional paid company-wide days off through our HK Holidays program
  • Interstate office exchange opportunities
  • Paid volunteer leave to support causes that matter to you

With a reputation built on trust, excellence, and delivery, we are continuing to expand and are now seeking an experienced Construction Planner with demonstrated capability across NPI works, earthworks and commercial construction to join our team.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based in Perth, offering the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of complex and high-quality projects within a supportive and driven team.

About the Role

As a Planner, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our large-scale commercial and mining infrastructure projects by developing, maintaining, and optimising project schedules from inception to completion. Working closely with Project Managers, Site Teams, Engineers, and external stakeholders, you will ensure that all phases of the project are accurately planned, resources are effectively allocated, and project milestones are achieved on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing, updating, and managing detailed project schedules using industry-standard planning software.
  • Coordinating with project and site teams to gather schedule input, validate durations, and align sequences of work.
  • Preparing and maintaining baseline schedules and integrating subcontractor and supplier schedules into the master program.
  • Preparing progress and forecast reports for internal and external stakeholders, including visual dashboards, S-curves, and key metrics.
  • Collaborating with the commercial and contracts teams to link schedule impacts with cost and contractual obligations.
  • Ensuring schedule compliance with contractual requirements, industry standards, and client reporting protocols.
  • Maintaining organised planning records, including updates, approvals, and change logs.
  • Contributing to project budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate time-based resourcing data.

Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years’ experience as a Construction Planner / Scheduler with direct involvement in construction-phase planning on large commercial and NPI construction projects.
  • Proven experience developing detailed construction programs across multiple phases, including early works, bulk earthworks, civil packages and structural/building scopes.
  • Strong capability with Primavera P6 planning and scheduling software.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating subcontractor construction schedules, managing multiple workfronts, and maintaining live, progress-driven programs.
  • Ability to interpret engineering and construction drawings, scopes of work and contractual requirements to inform realistic and buildable schedules.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical, construction-focused, data-driven recommendations.
  • Solid understanding of project controls, earned value management and schedule risk analysis within a construction delivery environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with site-based and office-based teams, including Project Managers, Engineers and Supervisors.

Why join us?

  • Be part of a business built on Trust, Passion, and Care
  • Work on a diverse portfolio of major projects across remote infrastructure (NPI) and commercial construction
  • Get exposure across the full project lifecycle; from tender through to delivery and close-out
  • Competitive salary package with access to additional travel benefits aligned to project requirements
  • Career progression opportunities
  • Active social club
  • Access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and structured wellbeing support
  • Work from a modern West Perth office, close to Kings Park
