Requisition No: 864681 Agency: Department of Health Working Title: PLANNER I - 64086106 Pay Plan: Career Service Position Number: 64086106 Salary: $41,600.00 to $45,206.72 Annual Posting Closing Date: 11/24/2025 Total Compensation Estimator Tool Job posting category (Internal) Your Specific Responsibilities: This highly responsible position will serve as the training and exercise coordinator for three rural County Health Departments and will serve as the lead position for preparedness activities in the three counties. This position reports directly to the Administrator. Responsible for helping to implement all Public Health Preparedness program requirements for Dixie, Gilchrist and Levy Counties. Assists in conducting yearly training needs assessment for three County Health Departments Maintains training schedule based on needs assessment and adopted training plans. Provides or arranges appropriate training to CHD staff and community partners as needed. Tracks training provided and maintains a record for meeting PHP standards. Maintains training manuals and trains CHD employees on PHP related forms, plans and procedures, equipment and NIMS/ICS. Conducts PHP exercises to test plans’ effectiveness. Utilizes HSEEP guidelines. Analyzes data gathered and develops solutions or alternative methods for proceeding. Confers with concerned personnel to ensure successful functioning of newly implemented plans or procedures. Assures that the DOH County Health Department meets DOH Preparedness expectations set forth by the Bureau of Public Health Preparedness. Updating the DOH County Emergency Operations Plan and its annexes. Represent DOH at local and regional preparedness meetings. Partner with local emergency management to plan for and respond to emergencies. Assists in preparing periodic reports to the Bureau of Preparedness and Response Assists in preparing budget projections and reports for the Bureau of Preparedness and Response Assist in maintaining sufficient inventories for the operation of Special Needs shelters in the three county health departments This position also serves as the Safety Coordinator and evaluator for the three County Health Departments. Creates a Safety Committee dedicated to implementing Department of Health policy regarding safety within the county health departments to include education, training, and exercises. Performs other related duties as required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of incident command and emergency operations response. Skills in Microsoft Office and most specifically in Excel. Skills in Communication; both written and oral. Skills in organization. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. safely. Ability to teach to diverse audiences. Strong time management skills and the ability to anticipate, prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines while multi-tasking. Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills as a member of a team, in addition to the ability to work autonomously. Experience working with Emergency Preparedness. Post secondary education in Emergency Preparedness, Emergency Services or equivalent. Personal vehicle and willing to travel. Willing to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule, including evenings and weekends with short notice. Experience working with the incident command and emergency operations response system.
