About this Opportunity: The Planner 1 is primarily responsible for review and entering of new customer orders. In this position this individual will be responsible for a wide array of responsibilities including the preparation and release of work orders, pruning operations off masters, temporary filing, rework order structuring, and work order closeouts. This position assures that all requirements tasked by the planner are completed. This position will also be responsible for other duties and tasks as assigned by the Planner 2 and/or others. Responsibilities: Logs and maintains an order entry book documenting Sales Orders entered in VISUAL MANUFACTURING. Assists in maintaining future releases and build outs through MRP maintenance. On 2nd releases of approved work order masters, purge the engineering masters for operations not necessary and add operations if so directed by procedure. Files masters, purchase orders, and work order closeouts when needed. Ensures that customer requirements from purchase orders are communicated to the planning, scheduling, manufacturing, quality and any other areas involved. Creates and inputs rework orders on instruction from quality. Releases work orders to the floor. Reviews closed work orders off the floor, including issuing un-issued materials, and back flushing incorrect material transactions. Reviews work order quantities prior to release for materials already in stock or in inventory (In the case of legs would ask key departments to provide counts prior to release of the new work order to the floor). Requirements Experience: This is an entry-level position, which requires experience in a fast-paced environment and an understanding of manufacturing practices and knowledge of MRP. Requires the ability to effectively communicate with others. Strong writing skills are necessary Requires a detail-oriented person. Mid-level computer skills are necessary. Must have mild typing skills (15-20 WPM) Ability to efficiently schedule time to meet or exceed company expectations. Physical Demands: Prolonged sitting and extensive use of computer and keyboard
