Job Responsibilities: Organization & Leadership Manage all aspects of Materials, Planning and Logistics (MP&L) Management for Magna Steyr MESA. Build and lead a strong MP&L organization to fulfill all aspects and tasks described below. Plan and establish robust processes to meet the needs of internal and external customers. Establish and further develop all necessary MP&L tools, methods and equipment to drive a lean logistics approach following the requirements of MAFACT. Develop and lead a high-performing logistics team across planning, warehousing, and transportation. Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for all department positions. Ensure cost-effective logistics operations through strategic budget planning, monitoring, and control. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in logistics processes and systems. Material Control & Production Scheduling Manage material flow from suppliers to production and finished goods. Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to resolve material shortages or delays. Ensure timely, complete, and accurate delivery of materials and finished goods to support production and customer satisfaction. Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity constraints. Warehousing & line side supply & Inventory Management Ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective management of warehouse operations to support production and distribution needs. Ensure accurate inventory levels through cycle counts and audits. Optimize warehouse layout and processes to meet lean logistics goals. Coordinate and ensure just-in-time delivery of materials to production lines to prevent production delays. Ensure that physical material movements are accurately and timely reflected in the ERP system SAP to maintain data integrity and support operational efficiency. Transport Logistics Oversee inbound and outbound transportation activities, including carrier selection and performance. Optimize freight costs while ensuring timely delivery and compliance with regulations. Coordinate with customs for international shipments. Logistics Planning & Continuous Improvement Ensure the design of logistics concepts for new customer programs and product launches. Work cross functional with manufacturing engineering, procurement, quality, IT and the customer to align logistics plans with project timelines and technical requirements. Define material flow, transport routes, and warehouse requirements for new operations. Ensure Analyze existing logistics processes and System Applications to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities. Key Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Logistics Supply Chain Management processes and planning SAP and basic IT understanding and database knowledge Awareness, Unity, Empowerment: At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
