Job Description Overview As a Planner within the Smart Meter Delivery team at United Infrastructure, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of our Smart Meter programme of works. You’ll be responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimising schedules to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with client expectations. This role requires strong coordination, communication, and analytical skills, as you will collaborate with multiple departments, clients, and field teams to ensure that resources, timeframes, and deliverables are aligned from planning through to execution. Responsibilities Develop and manage detailed programmes of work for the Smart Meter rollout. Liaise with clients, internal delivery teams, to ensure project requirements and technical standards are met. Attend planning and coordination meetings to assess progress, resolve conflicts, and maintain delivery momentum. Produce and maintain accurate construction schedules using Microsoft Project or other planning tools. Monitor and report on employee hours, progress, and performance metrics to improve efficiency. Coordinate with department managers to ensure adequate resources are available for all planned works. Track and close out all work orders and planning log items once complete. Contribute to continuous improvement of planning and scheduling processes. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, providing regular updates and identifying potential risks or delays early. Qualifications Essential: Strong planning, scheduling, and organisational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and Microsoft Project. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate across departments. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to deadlines. Experience in a customer-facing or client service environment. Ability to self-motivate and work independently as well as part of a team. Calm, professional, and adaptable under pressure. Understanding of the importance of health, safety, and compliance standards. Desirable: Previous experience in utilities, infrastructure, or metering projects. Knowledge of Smart Meter installation or similar field-based operational programmes.
