JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Operations, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Operations Planner to join us here at BellatRx. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in resource planning, project management, production scheduling, and data analysis within a manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for creating a visibility for the entire organisation, optimizing resource allocation, developing production schedules, R& D planning and ensuring that our operations run efficiently and effectively.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):

  • Bilingual (English/French) proficiency preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or related field; Master’s (MBA, M.Eng.) and/or PMP certification is a plus.
  • 5–10 years of experience in resource planning, production scheduling, or project management in manufacturing, preferably in packaging or pharmaceuticals.
  • Proven leadership with strong organizational skills and team development experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, resource planning, project controls, and schedule performance management.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP, Unifier).
  • Skilled in earned value analysis, risk and change management, and financial control.
  • Professional credentials (PMP, PMI-SP, P.Eng., CET) are highly valued.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to influence and resolve issues across teams.
  • Experience in industrial project planning and a deep understanding of construction methodologies from design to commissioning.
Responsibilities
  • Resource Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive resource plans and schedules to optimize the use of labor, materials, and equipment. Coordinate with various departments to ensure proper resource allocation and adherence to project timelines, while working across small and large-scale manufacturing projects as a Master Project Planner for all types of resources.
  • Projects Planning: Create and manage production schedules to ensure timely product delivery, minimize downtime, and maximize efficiency. Develop master schedules for both simple and complex projects involving multiple stakeholders from multidisciplinary teams.
  • Forecasting: Analyze production data and forecasts to anticipate resource needs and adjust plans proactively to align with project goals.
  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with Operations to identify opportunities for process improvement, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness. Leverage expertise to help Sales, Operations, and Engineering departments meet or exceed project objectives by providing critical information for informed decision-making.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data and analytics to monitor performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for optimizing resource use and project costs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality Control/Assurance, Production, and Warehouse to ensure resource plans align with operational objectives and timelines. Facilitate cross-functional communication and collaboration to achieve project goals.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on resource utilization, production schedules, and forecast accuracy for senior management, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Compliance: Ensure all planning activities adhere to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, including risk management strategies to mitigate potential schedule issues.
  • Project Scheduling: Develop and manage master schedules for small and large-scale projects, integrating all phases of the project lifecycle—from Sales through Engineering Design, Procurement, Production, Shipping, Commissioning, and Post-Sales Service.
  • Project Management: Use project management software to track progress, manage deadlines, and identify potential delays. Provide regular updates to directors of operations and project managers on project advancement.
  • Risk Management: Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential schedule and cost issues, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and propose solutions for any cost or schedule variances, contributing to the overall success of the project by presenting critical insights for informed decisions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Represent and advocate for the client’s best interests by developing, monitoring, and controlling schedules, ensuring all stakeholders are equipped to make well-informed decisions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and adjust processes, schedules, and resource allocations to support cost-effective, timely project execution. Integrate necessary information for effective planning and monitoring.
