Due to internal progression, Arriva Rail London are looking for a new Planning & Diagramming Specialist to join their team!
The main focus for this role is to work across all aspects of both long- and short-term train planning, unit diagramming and traincrew diagramming as demanded by the train planning department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The ideal individual will be educated to a degree level, or have equivalent experience, excellent IT literacy as well as proven success in redesigning business process to implement faster and smarter ways of working.
  • Knowledge of the London Overground routes and train service plans would be beneficial but not essential, as well as a basic understanding of railway operating principles and knowledge of traincrew terms and conditions.
  • Proven track record of building effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including peers.
  • Also, you will need to have had experience of achieving deadlines and maintaining excellent attention to detail for this role.
Responsibilities
  • The Planning & Diagramming Specialist will be responsible for the creation and delivery of the Short-Term Plan (STP) and Long-Term Plan (LTP) timetable, rolling stock and traincrew diagrams whilst also undertaking timetable and performance studies to analyse sub threshold delays, and use this to prioritise potential deficiencies in the Timetable Planning Rules (TPR).
  • You will work closely with Network Rail as well as other operators in preparation of timetable bids in line with the requirements of the Network Code and to meet business objectives which include commercial, operational and performance.
  • Production and preparation of train plans, rolling stock and traincrew diagrams for each Long-Term Plan and Short-Term Plan period to meet specification, fleet maintenance and stabling requirements including giving adequate notice of changes, in line with the concession performance targets.
  • Working closely with the Customer Experience team to ensure diagrams meet manpower and budget requirements, ensuring that plans are deliverable within available resources.
  • You will also undertake timetable performance studies to systematically analyse sub threshold delays, using this to prioritise potential deficiencies within train planning.
