At Waagner Biro, we are committed to achieving the extraordinary in every project. 🌐 Learn more: www.waagnerbiro-bridgesystems.com Job Description We are looking for a qualified and experienced Planning Engineer to manage the planning and scheduling activities for a Road Bridge, Roads and Infrastructure Construction Projects in Abu Dhabi mainly and one time or twice in Al Ain. The ideal candidate must be a Civil Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience on bridge and roads projects in UAE and preparable Abu Dhabi experience and have a strong working knowledge of Authorities procedures and standards. The Planning Engineer will be responsible for preparing project schedules and reports, mitigation and/ or revised schedules, tracking progress, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring timely delivery in compliance with client and authority requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop, update, and monitor detailed project schedules using mainly Primavera P6 and MS Project as additional skills, covering all construction phases from mobilization to handover. Full planning skills in preparation Cost loaded Program, Resource loaded Program, Change Log, KPI, EOT's and..etc. Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with the baseline schedule as well as to identify any major risks along with action plan in line with management directions. Prepare look-ahead programs, progress reports, and recovery plans in case of delays. Conduct regular site visits to verify actual progress against planned timelines in Abu Dhabi and in Al Ain. Integrate project milestones and deliverables with Authorities approval processes, traffic diversion programs, and authority permits. Analyze critical path, float, and resource allocation to optimize project timelines. Participate in project progress meetings and provide schedule updates to management and client representatives. Support claim preparation, extension of time (EOT) analysis mainly to have skills in TIA and in Window analysis as must skills and delay impact assessments. Ensure compliance with project planning guidelines and coordinate closely with project control teams. Maintain and update project documentation, schedules, and reports in coordination with document control. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory). Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in planning for Bridge, Roads and Infrastructure construction projects. Proven experience working with similar projects, familiar with their procedures, submittals, and reporting formats. Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office Suite. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and infrastructure project workflows. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
