Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Planning Engineer / Quantity Surveyor to join our Contracting & Construction division in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and project controls across construction and contracting projects.
The role requires strong technical and commercial knowledge, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to monitor project performance to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project schedules, resource plans, and progress reports for construction and contracting projects.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimates, BOQs, and budget forecasts.
- Assist with tender preparation, pricing, bid analysis, and cost comparison.
- Develop, monitor, and update project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Track project progress against approved schedules, budgets, and project milestones.
- Coordinate closely with project management, engineering, procurement, subcontractors, and site teams.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor quotations, payment applications, progress certifications, and variation claims.
- Prepare cost reports, progress claims, forecasts, cash flow projections, and project performance reports.
- Support project control activities including budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, cost monitoring, and performance tracking.
- Monitor project expenditures and identify potential cost overruns, delays, and resource constraints.
- Identify project risks and delays and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Assist management with commercial analysis, project forecasting, and decision-making.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, cost records, and progress data.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in contracting and construction projects, preferably within the UAE.
- Strong knowledge of construction planning, project scheduling, quantity surveying, cost control, and project coordination.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite.
- Good understanding of BOQ, quantity take-offs, variations, subcontractor payments, progress claims, and cost control.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project execution, and site coordination.
- Familiarity with UAE construction practices and local market pricing is preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with multiple project stakeholders.
- Valid UAE Driving License is an advantage.
