Position Summary: The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules for electrical contracting projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, and resources. The role involves close coordination with project managers, site teams, procurement, and subcontractors to track progress, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions to ensure successful project delivery Key Responsibilities: Develop baseline project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project in alignment with contract requirements. Monitor and update schedules to reflect project progress, delays, and changes. Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports for management and clients. Track project milestones, critical paths, and resource allocation. Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to gather progress data. Identify delays, risks, and potential impacts on project timelines; propose mitigation plans. Support the preparation of extension of time (EOT) claims and related documentation. Ensure compliance with contractual, client, and company planning/reporting requirements. Maintain updated records of schedules, revisions, and approvals. Assist in cost control and cash flow forecasting in coordination with the project controls team. Attend project meetings and present planning updates as required. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in the construction/electrical contracting industry. Strong knowledge of electrical contracting projects (power, substations, LV/MV/HV systems preferred). Proficiency in planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project). Solid understanding of project management principles and contractual obligations. Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and coordination abilities. Knowledge of FIDIC contracts is an advantage.
