QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–7 years of planning experience in construction projects (buildings, infrastructure, or industrial).
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, delay analysis, and claims.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure that construction activities are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications. The role involves coordinating with project managers, engineers, site teams, and stakeholders to provide accurate planning, progress monitoring, and reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop detailed project schedules (baseline programs) using planning software (Primavera P6 / MS Project).
  • Monitor and update project progress, ensuring alignment with approved schedules and milestones.
  • Prepare resource-loaded schedules, manpower histograms, and cash flow projections.
  • Conduct critical path analysis and highlight risks, delays, and bottlenecks.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and clients.
  • Liaise with site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to gather progress data.
  • Evaluate and incorporate changes/variations into the program.
  • Monitor subcontractor schedules and ensure integration into the master program.
  • Support claims preparation related to time extension (EOT) and delay analysis.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide planning input to resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Ensure planning deliverables comply with company and client standards.
