ROLE DETAILS

The role of Planning Officer assists in the coordination and development of recreation and sport plans and initiatives, master plans, and feasibility studies for key sport and recreation infrastructure across South Australia. The role will also contribute advice through funding assessments, and ensure alignment with broader government priorities, sustainability, and community needs. The position will work closely with Senior Recreation and Sport Planners, as well as other teams across the office, to ensure a holistic approach to recreation and sport planning, leading to well-integrated, sustainable, and community-focused outcomes. This position reports the Manager, Recreation and Sport Planning and supports the Infrastructure and Planning division by contributing to asset management, facilities maintenance, and venues operations. The role provides specialist advice and support to Executive and staff on recreation and sport and open space planning matters and maintains effective partnerships with other government agencies, local councils and recreation and sport organisations.
