BAND E/F – CANDIDATES CAN BE RECRUITED AT EITHER BAND LEVEL DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE

Solihull has an excellent opportunity for a Planning Officer / Senior Planning Officer to join our Highways team. You will be responsible for assessing development plans, responding to consultations on planning applications and providing advice on transportation matters to a range of stakeholders.

You will

• Assess transportation implications of planning applications on behalf of the Local Authority.
• Provide pre-application advice to developers when plans are at an early stage.
• Visit sites to gain a clear understanding of the implications of new development and possible solutions
• Agree any changes to highways and transport networks needed to accommodate new development.
• Attend Planning Committee, appeals and other meetings as required.

You will be either a qualified planning professional or have a relevant degree with experience in the field and will be required to carry site visits and committee meetings as required.
