Description

Grey Sauble Conservation Authority is seeking to fill the position of Planning & Regulations Administrative Assistant. This is a two-year contract position with the possibility of extension.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

Reporting directly to the Manager of Environmental Planning, this position is involved in assisting the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Planning Department by providing front-line customer service, maintaining file management systems, data entry, formatting and reporting on departmental statistics, assisting with invoicing, fee processing, and providing additional support and backfilling for GSCA’s Administrative Assistant.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduation from a recognized college program in administration (typically two-year program). A diploma in planning or other related discipline or an equivalent level of knowledge and skills acquired through work experience will also be considered.
  • Proficiency with using email, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat or PDF Exchange Editor.
  • Knowledge of document management software and payment systems.
  • Familiarity with the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), development plans, property survey and mapping.
  • Basic understanding of the role and mandate of Conservation Authorities.
  • Demonstrated tact, good judgement and effective communication skills.
  • First Aid certification and possession of a valid Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s License are considered assets.
