PLANNING SOLICITOR

Location: Civic Offices, Euclid Street, SN1 2JH
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 3+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 18.01 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice and guidance on planning matters to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate planning agreements and other related legal documents.
  • Represent the council in planning appeals, inquiries, and other legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to facilitate planning processes and resolve issues.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in planning law and regulations.

Person Specification

  • Qualified solicitor with proven experience in planning law.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex legal documents.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
