OUR DESIRED CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning, Community Development, Land or Natural Resource Management, Landscape Architecture or a related field.
  • Experience in preparing or contributing to the development of Plans of Management, or similar documents.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse spatial, legal and policy related information.
  • Attention to detail and a desire to deliver work to a high standard.
  • General understanding of legislation and industry standards relevant to Plans of Management.
  • Skills in project management, with the ability to successfully manage a complex and dynamic workload.
  • High level communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence in liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
    We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, practical, outcome-focused, have good stakeholder management skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage a complex and dynamic workload. You will also need to have good written and verbal communication skills, as well as proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software applications.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Liverpool City Council is seeking to temporarily appoint a suitably qualified and experienced individual to the position of Project Officer - Plans of Management on a 2-year contract, with potential for extension. The purpose of the position is to manage the development, updating and implementation of Plans of Management (PoMs) for Community and Crown land across the Liverpool LGA. This includes ensuring PoMs meet relevant legislative requirements, are consistent with relevant Council strategies, and deliver on community expectations, to enable sustainable, lawful and inclusive use and maintenance of public land and assets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO) THE FOLLOWING:

  • Developing new and/or updating existing Plans of Management, in accordance with relevant legislative requirements.
  • Engaging with / coordinating inputs from, various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preparing Council reports, briefing papers and providing information and updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attending and presenting at inter-departmental meetings, governance / community committee meetings, workshops and as part of consultation activities.
  • Reviewing, updating and improving Plans of Management templates, processes and engagement practices.
  • Engaging and managing external consultants (where required).
