DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Direct financial activities, such as planning and procurement, for the plant. Supervise employees performing financial activities at the plant. Assist and advise the Plant Manager with all financial decisions at the plant.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of four years of experience in general or cost accounting. Experience in LEAN Manufacturing required. Experience as a Controller preferred.
CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: None required.

ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Knows Generally-Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and cost accounting concepts, preferably with a manufacturing business.
  • Able to read and comprehend printed and electronic information.
  • Able to use computers with strong competence in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Knows ERP systems with Microsoft Dynamics AX, preferred not required.
  • Able to use critical thinking to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
  • Possesses the skills to manage time and multitask efficiently.
  • Able to guide oneself with little or no supervision and depend on oneself to get things done.
  • Possesses an honest and ethical character.
  • Able to manage, motivate, develop and direct people.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily Manufacturing Order and reconciliation of all production and inventory movement.
  • Report daily accuracy level to Plant Manager.
  • Provide daily Cost of Manufacturing Goods (COMG) report to Plant Manager.
  • Work with Plant Manager and Operations on line efficiencies, testing on the shop floor and thru put.
  • Help Plant Manager and Operations maintain and improve standards on existing and future production.
  • Work closely with Plant Manager and Inventory Manager on communication with our customers, especially involving production reporting and waste factors.
  • Provide additional management in warehouse, as needed and directed.
  • Produce reports to analyze and review with Plant Manager, Corporate Accounting and/or Management.
  • Analyze and enter data related to production, inventory movements and shipping/receiving documents.
  • Analyze and resolve variance and/or problems with records and balances.
  • Communicate with Corporate Accounting, when needed.
