PLANT ACCOUNTANT - VACAVILLE, CA

As a Plant Accountant, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy of our financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and streamlining our month-end and year-end close processes. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, you’ll work closely with them and the broader finance team to deliver timely, insightful financial information that drives our business forward.
Compensation: $100,000 - $115,000 base salary + $7,000 annual Profit Share bonus paid out quarterly.

QUALIFICATIONS SEEKING:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance or Accounting.
  • 2.5+ years of experience in the accounting field, with a strong understanding of IFRS, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA designation preferred.
  • Prior experience working with an ERP system, preferably SAP, is desired.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data from multiple systems and present it in a clear, concise, and meaningful way to all levels of leadership.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas).
  • Strong analytical ability, with a talent for identifying problems and providing effective, best-practice solutions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with SAP is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Financial Control & Reporting:


    • Support the overall finance function by ensuring robust financial controls are in place across the business.

    • Assist in the preparation of accurate monthly Balance Sheets and Income Statements.
    • Perform comprehensive balance sheet account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, vendor statement reconciliations, and fixed asset register maintenance.
    • Prepare and review all journal entries as part of the month-end close procedure, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and business procedures.
    • Financial Analysis & Insights:


      • Contribute to the analysis of overall financial performance, including the production and interpretation of monthly financial reports.

      • Collaborate with operational teams to analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and explain monthly production variances.
      • Review and analyze inventory movements, including obsolescence tracking and reporting.
      • Conduct thorough review and analysis of overhead expenditure, including transport variances.
      • Complete customer profitability studies to inform strategic decisions.
      • Process Improvement & Support:


        • Assist with cash management processes and forecasting.

        • Prepare financial data to support all capital expenditure requests.
        • Support internal and external audits, coordinating with auditors as needed.
        • Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities within the business.
        • Contribute to the implementation of new accounting systems and process improvements.
        • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.
        • Participate in ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned by leadership.
