Position Description Title: Cast Line Assistant Department: Various Immediate Supervisor: Plant Supervisory Staff Status: Hourly Non-Exempt Principle Accountabilities Responsible for the safe, controlled start-up and operation of the cast line equipment including starting the machine, engaging the feed, observing the operation, and assists changeover process. Inspects and measures completed pieces to verify conformity to customer production standards. Monitors and adjusts controls to ensure product complies with production standards. Coaching and mentoring of assistants and helpers by providing clear and precise instructions, if assigned Maintains equipment through completion of assigned preventative maintenance tasks and minor repair techniques as required. Records quality and production metrics via written communication methods and within time deadlines, as necessary. Performs all work in a safety-first mentality and with utilization of IPS lean manufacturing skills. Related tasks as requested by supervisor Essential Skills and Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. 2+ Years in a Manufacturing Environment experience required Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary. General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork. Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required Ability to work in space limited work area on continuous basis. Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role following recommended practices, with an emphasis on safety and injury prevention.
